iOLAP Inc., has signed a Consulting Partner agreement with web infrastructure provider Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), for their new Redshift platform, a petabyte-scale data warehouse service in the cloud.
The agreement will see the Texas-headquartered consultancy make Amazon’s cloud-based data warehousing enabling technologies, and its associated training and professional services offerings, available to its large and rapidly-growing global customer base.
iOLAP CEO and Co-Founder, Doug Slemmer, said that making the decision to partner with AWS to offer their Redshift cloud data warehouse technologies is important because of the AWS strategy of providing robust, easily scalable, enterprise-strength cloud data warehousing services at dramatically reduced prices. Customers can easily launch a Redshift cluster for under $1,000 per terabyte per year.
“With the explosion of Big Data projects, and even traditional data warehouses that are seeing exponential data growth, our customers need solutions that can grow quickly and affordable price points. Our customers need to strategically manage this data growth and make better, faster, more insightful decisions in increasingly complex business situations,” said Slemmer. “Redshift has price/performance capabilities unequaled for customers who want to get rapid access to data storage at manageable and scalable prices.”
iOLAP’s highly-regarded reputation as a dedicated provider of Big Data and Data Warehousing solutions will enhance AWS Redshift’s reach in this rapidly growing market. iOLAP’s deep understanding of all the technical and business issues surrounding BI, EDW and Big Data marketplace will be a great asset to the AWS Redshift platform and the goal to meet growing demand for cost-effective, cloud-based data warehousing and business intelligence.
